March 30th - April 3rd Instruction

Each Monday, you will be receiving assignments through Google Classroom. Just as we would do if we were meeting in the classroom, you will have activities for grammar, literature, and writing. There will be a graded assignment in each of these categories. All assignments are due by Friday at 3:00 pm.

Grammar

This week for grammar we will be focusing on apostrophes. You will find a SlideShow covering some rules for apostrophes, and there is an assignment that you will need to complete to show your understanding of the concept. The Apostrophes - Online Learning assignment needs to be completed and turned in by Friday at 3:00 pm. 

Literature

We will be starting our unit over To Kill a Mockingbird. In the To Kill a Mockingbird (TKAM) section of Google Classroom, you will find a SlideShow that covers some things about the book, the characters, and some background information surrounding the setting of the story along with a guided notes packet. You will need to complete the TKAM - Introduction notes and turn them in by Friday at 3:00 pm.

Writing

This week's writing assignment will be a review of the paragraph structure that we covered in the first part of the semester, and it will incorporate some of the ideas that you read about in the SlideShow presentation covering To Kill a Mockingbird. In the writing section of Google Classroom, you will find a Week One Writing Prompt/Rubric document that tells you the question that you will need to answer along with a Week One Paragraph Response document for you to type your paragraph. The Week One Paragraph Response is due by 3:00 pm on Friday.
